What do Baptists believe regarding good works earning rewards in heaven and what scriptures support the beliefs?
I know we believe that good works themselves will not get you into heaven. As far as a scripture, try John 14:6 and the one that says “Not everyone who says to me ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven. But I think we believe that the more you do for the Lord after you give your life to him, the greater your reward in heaven. I can’t remember a scripture reference though.
To answer the question about works earning rewards in heaven, yes we do believe that. Good works start to count after we are saved, and if they are done to glorify God, and not ourselves. That will be decided by Jesus who is our judge.
