Baha’is recognize the reality of the eternal Christ, Who reflects the knowledge and truth from God, the Father, to mankind in accordance with the needs of the age. His title, Christ (meaning “the Anointed One”) refers to His role as King over all mankind. Jesus referred to His eternal essence in saying, “Before Abraham was, I am” (John 8:58) and again when He said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end” (Rev. 21:6) and when He said “No man cometh unto the Father but by me” (John 14:6). The eternal Christ is mankind’s only direct link with God. Like a perfect mirror, He reflects the image of God into our world, according to the requirements of the age, and the people’s capacity to understand.
