What do baby hamster eat?
As long as the momma is feeding them, the only thing you have to worry about is food for the momma. As their eyes open and they begin eating solid foods, add more hamster food to the cage, as well as some fresh food like carrots, apple, bread and baked (and cooled) potato. When our hamster had a littler of pups, I gave them 1/2 a baked potato (left over from our meal), and the hungry little pups hollowed out the potato! I should add that it’s perfectly normal for the pups to start crawling around with their eyes closed. It’s not a matter of the mother mistreating them, but the pups wanting (and needing) to exercise and discover their surroundings. Perfectly normal!
