What do Asian Lady Beetles look like?
Asian Lady Beetles get to be 1/4 inch long and 3/16 of an inch wide (or 0.2 to0.3 inches long). They are different from the lady bugs we are used to seeing because they are a different color. The normal lady bug is a tawny red-orange color, while Asian Lady Beetles range from a yellow to a dark orange color. The beetles can range from a yellow to a dark orange in color. They also have a pair of white oval markings behind the head. Adults can live for three years. The females lay oval yellow eggs on the underside of leaves that hatch in clusters. How else are they different from the Lady Bug? Lady bugs don’t pinch or stink when you squash them. The Asian Lady Beetle does!
