What do Apprenticeships involve?
A. Apprenticeships involve undertaking sufficient periods of on-job and off-job training to achieve whole job competence. This is demonstrated through achievement of an S/NVQ, Key/Core Skills and in some cases a Technical Certificate or vocationally related qualification (VRQ). Due to devolution of government, the Apprenticeship content (and even name) varies across the four nations, although each nation has strict guidelines to ensure consistently high standards.
