The Department currently employs 13 Animal Protection Inspectors and two Animal Protection Field Supervisors who are responsible for enforcing the Animal Protection Act, Bird Dealers Licensing Act, Animal Protection Rules and Regulations, and Bird Dealers Licensing Rules and Regulations for all 159 counties in the state. (Animal Protection does not investigate complaints on personal pets, this is handled by local animal control services.
