What do achievements do on an xbox 360?
Achievements count towards your gamerscore. Many users will look at someones gamerscore before even considering playing with them, using it as a measure of skill and devotion to gaming. The higher your gamerscore, the more you play games (and presumably, the better you are At games) For example, if i’m playing Halo online, and i’m looking for teammates to play with for the next couple hours, i will check their gametags/scores to see if they’ve beaten the single player campaign on Legendary difficulty, or if they just beat it on Easy. This will let me know their basic level of skill, as well if they like a challenge or not. Oftentimes, i look at someones score and see less then 3000 points, i assume they’ve either just bought an xbox, or spend all their time playing 3-5 games.
