What Do a Grandson and Grandfather Have In Common?
If you had asked me that prior to the 2010 Thanksgiving holiday I would have had a somewhat difficult time answering. Being closely related a grandson and grandfather would of course be likely to share some personal and physical attributes. They also most likely would have some interest in the same hobbies. There is something else that I observed between my father and my son over the Thanksgiving weekend that has probably been going on for some time but I never put it together. I will need to digress a little to make my point but I will get there, I promise. I was fortunate enough to have a strong and long-lasting relationship with one of my grandfathers. He lived to be 96. I was 34 when he passed away. It was great to get to know him as an adult and be able to spend time with him that way. He was in fact best man at my wedding.
