LTSP began as a standalone package, designed to work with all major distributions. As a standalone package different code was required to integrate with different distributions. In more recent years, major distributions such as Ubuntu, Fedora, and OpenSUSE have contributed developers and time to the project to integrate LTSP with their distribution of Linux.
