What distinguishes the Marianists from other Catholic religious orders?
The Marianists are distinguished by their charisms, or gifts given by God for the benefit of the Christian community. As men of faith, members of the Society of Mary live in communities that bear witness to Christ and reflect gospel values. This includes a discipleship of equals, which means brothers and priests share equal status within the order. Like Mary, Marianists strive to bring Christ to the world and work for the coming of His kingdom.
