What distinguishes email forwarding from an email alias?
These are almost exactly alike. However, you can’t forward one email account to another. You are merely setting up an alias, which is not a normal email account, and you cannot check mail in an alias. An alias’s only function is to forward all email it receives to a real email account. An email forwarder is a means of sending email to an address other than the one from which it originated.
