What disinfectants can be disposed of in the laboratory sink?

0

The list of disinfectants that can be discharged to MIT laboratory sinks include Mercury-free Bleach, Wescodyne™, Cidex OPA™, Quatricide®, and Cetylcide II solutions If you are using a disinfectant that is not on the list, please send the MSDS to the EHS Office at environment@mit.edu and it will be evaluated. Clorox bleach contains trace amounts of mercury and should not be disposed of in the sink. Mercury-free bleach is available through the VWR stockroom.
