What discoveries were made during the apollo 11 mission.?
Most of the real science was done on the later Apollo missions, especially the last landing, Apollo 17, which had the only scientist (as opposed to test pilot) ever to walk on the Moon, Harrison Schmitt. Apollo 11 just showed it was possible to land on the Moon and make it back to Earth. All its accomplishments were engineering tests of the space craft really.
