What discipline policy is in place in third grade?
I will expect all students to follow these rules. I monitor student behavior by writing a student’s name on the board if a rule is broken. The first time a student’s name is written, it is a warning. The next time a rule is broken, a check mark is put by their name. The student will miss five minutes of recess. Another check mark will mean that the student will miss 10 minutes of recess. Another check mark requires the student to write a letter home explaining the problems he or she is having. The note must be signed by a parent or guardian and returned to school the next day. If the note is not returned, the students will be required to call the parent with the teacher and principal present. I hope this system will assist each student in being responsible for his or her own behavior and allow all of us to enjoy a pleasant classroom environment.
