What direction should the ViegaPEX Barrier tubing run?
Under carpet, vinyl, or tile the tubing should usually run perpendicular to the floor joists (with Climate Panels, this stiffens the floor). When Climate Panels are used under hardwood, the tubing MUST run perpendicular to the flooring direction to prevent nailing punctures. This usually means that the tubing will be parallel to the joists (as floor planks most commonly run perpendicular to the joists). Of course, some jobs require exceptions to these guidelines, so consult project plans carefully.
