For detailed information about different versions of MM!, see the version history on the Introduction page. Roughly, version 1.x was the initial Win32 release written in Visual C++ with limited functionality. Version 2.x is a complete redesign of the application based primarily on the Java version of the program, Mandelbrot Madness JAVA! Version 2.x is written in .NET 2.0 C# and brings the Windows branch of development in line with version 4.x of the Java branch.
