What different types of mouth ulcer are there?
Children do get mouth ulcers, some caused by a jagged tooth or biting the inside of the mouth. Two viruses can cause them, herpes simplex and coxsackievirus. Sometimes the cause is unknown, it may be lack of iron or a vitamin deficiency. Stress, fatigue, weight loss, allergy, autoimmune reaction to a chemical = other possible causes.
