What diet is good for poly cystic ovarian disease patient?

Hi, for pcos a low G.I. diet is usually recommended, as these are food which release energy steadily and don’t cause spikes in blood sugar (as pcos is linked to insulin resistance). There is a lot of info available on the internet about a low GI diet, but the basics are to avoid refined white products. White basmati rice is better than standard white rice, but the lowest GI rice, I believe, is brown basmati rice. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it’s quite nice. It is also best to avoid sugar. White breads are not good for pcos. I have stopped eating white bread (although I do occasionally) and now eat wholemeal mutligrain or stoneground bread. Rough oatcakes are low GI so they are a good snack. I still eat fruit, but too much fruit is recommended against because of it being high in sugar. That’s about all I know about diets. Pcos responds well to exercise. Even a 20 mintue walk every day at a fast pace is better than nothing. There’s a good forum called soulcysters.net for tips
