Open On June 4, 2003, the Board of Directors of both Palm, Inc. and Handspring, Inc. unanimously approved a definitive agreement for Palm to acquire Handspring. In addition the Palm board granted final approval for the spin-off of PalmSource, Inc., which was the software operating system business.
