What did whites thinks of blacks back when the slave trades were still happening?
It would depend. From most accounts all slaves were considered to be the same (as livestock) regardless of the slaves ethnicity (as all slaves where not black, contrary to popular belief.) Free blacks, especially those wealthy enough to own slaves themselves, were probably looked at much in the same manner as everyone else. OK now time for the real history lesson here. The kings, rulers, warlords, and whatever other title they may have had at the time in Africa (keep in mind , these people of wealth in Africa were black) who sold the black slaves to white Americans were viewed simply as business partners. More often than not, the slave years of America are almost always misrepresented as a white on black racist hate crime, or at least it is the way the media tries to explain it.
