The butter wasn’t poured over the popcorn because it was popped in butter. It was flavored as it popped. We popped ours in butter at home too in a big pan on top of the stove. Had to shake the dickens out of the pan and swirl it over the burner real fast until you didn’t hear much popping & then get it into a bowl fast to keep it from scorching on the bottom. We also did Jiffy Pop sometimes too, but you couldn’t put it directly on the fire or it would scorch. I was usually the popcorn popper in our family of 8.
