What did the students think was the most difficult part of the website assignment?
At the end of that semester, several students used the open-ended questions to write that thinking about the organization and presentation was the most difficult part of the assignment. One student wrote: “The most difficult part was deciding how to present the information I gathered (ie as text, a table, a graph, etc).” Another wrote, “The most difficult part was thinking and trying to analyze data into presentable text because many aspects of the industry are thought provoking.” Surely many thought that just learning to design websites were the most difficult challenge, but these anecdotes suggest that for many, the challenge was not the technical aspects of the design, but rather deciding how to best make the presentation.
