What did the Court of Appeals decide?
The Court of Appeals decided that one provision of King County’s Clearing and Grading Code was inconsistent with a state law that sets standards and limits on the taxes and fees a county may impose on development. The provision required property owners in rural King County who are proposing to develop their land to keep a certain amount of the trees and other native vegetation on their property.
