What did Pres. Kennedy use to force the USSR to remove nuclear warhead from Cuba?
He has the US Navy set up a blockade of Cuba 200 miles off the coast of Cuba and would not let any ships get to Cuba. He had about 200 B52 bombers circling outside of the USSR. But bottom line, he gave the USSR a better deal than we got. The USSR agreed to pull its missiles out of Cuba. And the USA after the event pulled its missiles out of Turkey. The USA also promised never to invade Cuba. The USSR however did not promise not to invade Turkey. The USSR got the better of the deal. Had Kennedy not been such a ***** regarding the Bay of Pigs Invasion and the Berlin wall, the USSR would never have had the nerve to put missiles into CUBA in the first place. Kennedy was when other nations started realizing the USA would chicken out when the going got tough. See the mess we have today as a result.
