Nicolaus Copernicus is considered to be the ‘father of astronomy’. Before his studies and theories most of the learned people considered the Earth to be the center of the universe. Copernicus did a great deal of research and study to prove otherwise. He wrote a book called “On the Revolution of Heavenly Bodies” which was published in 1543 shortly before his death.
