What did Napolean not have that caused him to lose the Battle of Waterloo?

Waterloo is my pet topic,, Napoleon spent 80% of the battle some 2 miles behind the lines suffering with acute piles,he left the battle pretty much to Marshal Ney who was in no way as proficient as his master, The French had divided their force after the Battle of Quatre Bras sending some 30,000 troops under Marshal Grouchy to follow the Prussians, this left Napoleon with just 60,000 troops to fight the allies of 57,000,most of which were hidden from view behind the crest of a hill and hiding in the woods on the left flank so in answer to your question Napoleon lacked troop numbers, intelligence of the true size and disposition of Wellington`s army and most importantly he didn`t take full command,he sacrificed the Old Guard and the 12,000 cavalry that charged without infantry support, As Wellingto said after the battle “it was a close run thing”,but in essence Napoleon had lost the battle even before it had started The 2 thumbs down will be from complete idiots
