What did Jesus write in the sand?
I am definetely not a Bible scholar so forgive me if what I say sounds totally inaccurate. I wonder if Jesus was actually writing words or just making signs on the sand. I would imagine that a moment like that would have been charged with feelings and emotions (anger, fear, expecation, etc.) but while everybody was waiting for Jesus to say something there would have been silence. And silence often says more than a thousand words. Also maybe Jesus was just waiting to give an answer not dictated by first reaction and the immediate emotions of the moment. In any case, whatever happened in that episode, it was very effective and we are all still learnig (we hope) from that.
