What did George Washington accomplish while in office as president?
The people to serve under him were: Thomas Jefferson as Secretary of State, Alexander Hamilton as Secretary of Treasury, and Henry Knox as Secretary of War. Washington allowed Hamilton to establish (or at least attempt to) an effective Bank (Bank of America) in order to pay off the national debt of the previous war. Washington also made the first official move which showed that the government was indeed effective (google or something Whiskey Rebellion of 1794). Lastly Washington’s involvement or rather attempt at no invovlement in the French Revolution.
