What did George Eastman invent other then the hand held camera?
Eastman did invent one of the first emulsion coating machines, first for plates, then for rollfilm, but while Eastman Kodak Company produced an amazing number of innovations over the years, most were the work of company employees. Eastman was one of the first manfacturers to recognize the value of an independent research and development function, and he established such an operation with the hiring of Kenneth Mees in 1912. He continued to be closely associated with the planning and design of Kodak products, and if the few available records are any indication, left his personal stamp on the final design of those products.
