What did defense attorney Jackie Brown question concerning intimidating a witness?”
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Natrona County Circuit Court Judge Michael Patchen says a defendant in a drug case should stand trial on a charge of intimidating a witness. Anthony Mendoza, 31, was arrested in May on suspicion of methamphetamine possession. A woman who babysat his daughter talked to police and was subpoenaed to testify at Mendoza’s methamphetamine possession trial next month. Detective Wes Gudahl said in court Thursday that Mendoza threatened the woman, holding a gun against her head and telling her that he would kill her if she went through with her testimony. Defense attorney Jackie Brown questioned whether authorities had proof Mendoza knew the witness was going to testify. Mendoza is expected to enter a plea in several weeks on the intimidation charge.
