The song Davy Crockett was number 1 on the music charts in 1955. The song was written for the Walt Disney movie of the same name. This of course was before Elvis Presley and rock and roll. JUST BEFORE. I’m sure this is what your social studies teacher is looking for not the movie, it didn’t do as well as the song.
