What did Coretta Scott King do that led her to public prominence?
She did not become prominent until after her husband’s death. We cannot site one single thing that she did that was important, but she became an important spokesperson for civil rights and nonviolence after Martin’s death. Probably her most important function was setting up and organizing the Martin Luther King Center for Nonviolence in Atlanta.
