What did children wear during the elizabethan times because i can find absolutley nothing!!?
Although it’s popularly believed that children wore miniature replicas of their parents’ clothes, they were in fact simpler. If you had a lot of money they dressed more richly, but there really wasn’t any point in wasting a lot of time and money on something that would be outgrown at various stages in their early lives. Boys would wear dresses or gowns until they were “breeched”, which was when they were about six years old. While both were in dresses, they’d often have long ribbons attached, which would be like leading strings, or reins. I am going to attach a web site; it’s not long, and there are pictures you can look at to see for yourself how children were dressed: http://modehistorique.
