What did Che Guevara mean by saying “A true revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love”?
Although I have a disapointly small ammount of insight into the inner workings of Che Guevera’s mind, so I can’t say for sure exactly what he meant, I can make an educated guess. I’d say that what he probably meant was that a true revolutionary does not revolt out of a desire to bring themselves to power, nor by a hatred of the old regime, but by a love for the people and a desire to give them a better life and a more benevolent government to live under.
I think it means if you want to change something, you should let love be your guide. That doesn’t make any sense, because he also said, “Blind hate against the enemy creates a forceful impulse that cracks the boundaries of natural human limitations, transforming the soldier into an effective, selective and cold killing machine. A people without hate cannot triumph against the adversary, ” he said in a rousing pep talk to his guerilla thugs in Angola. He tried to convince Castro and the Soviet Union that it would be good to start a nuclear war with America during the Cuban missile crisis. He was responsible for the deaths of a few thousand people. Che promoted book burning and signed death warrants for authors who disagreed with him. He was also amazingly RACIST against blacks. Che, the devoted communist, loved material wealth and private luxuries. Che persecuted homosexuals, long-haired rock and roll fans, and religious people.
