What did calypso contribute to greek mythology?
Calypso is the daughter of Atlas. She fought in the Titanomachy, or ‘War of the Titans’ and was on the losing side, the Titans. She was banished to be lonely in Ogygia. Every one thousand years, Hera sends a hero to be healed by her, but only the ones that have to leave. It is said that Calypso emitts so much natural beauty that she is more beautiful than Aphrodite herself.
