Most printers are physically able to display a wider gamut than sRGB. This is one of the main reasons why technologies such as Print Image Matching (PIM), the follow on Exif Print exist. The main problem in displaying colors outisde of the sRGB gamut with your printer is software, but this has been getting easier with improved print drivers, printer firmware, and plugins that support PIM and/or Exifprint. For example, print drivers for some recent HP printers allow you to indicate the colorspace of your document. Alternatively, you can try to get a custom profile for printer/ink/paper combination, and use an ICC profile workflow.
