What developments have there been to improve ease of contact with Job Centre Plus during the recession?
(Germansweek) Nick Payne read out the following response: – A check with Job Centre Plus has revealed that they are not planning to put any more resources into the Okehampton area apart from the once a fortnight advisor based at the Childrens Centre to deal with lone parents (although this service is only just resuming after a staffing problem). We were informed by Job Centre Plus that the unemployment figure in the Okehampton postcode area has remained stable (at 268) and they have only been informed of one person who has been having trouble accessing Job Centre Plus services (in the eastern part of the Borough). However, if there are any other cases then these should be highlighted. Job Centre Plus state they have been improving their computer and telephone contact systems so that job seekers can gain access to information more readily.
