Syllable uses the familiar GNU tool chain. This includes GCC, GNU Binutils, GNU Make, the AutoTools (AutoConf, AutoMake and LibTool) and various other smaller utilities that most open source or Unix developers will already be familiar with. There is also an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for Syllable, sIDE. sIDE includes a GUI designer, projects and a developers editor.
