What determines if an inmate can attend a funeral?
In order for an inmate to attend a funeral service the deceased must be a parent, grandparent, spouse, brother, sister, or child of the inmate. The inmate cannot have charges that may cause a security threat. The family must supply presentable funeral attire for the services. The family must supply all information pertaining to the service (location, time, and date). The Warden or designee must approve the transport. The inmate is not allowed any contact with individuals at the services.
