What determines how fast a web page loads?
There are four major things that allow fast loading. One is the speed of your connection to the main backbone of the Internet. That is our service to you. Did you select 256K or 512K? Second is the amount of traffic on the Internet at a particular time. Saturday or Sunday morning will have very little traffic, while a weekday evening in the winter may be very busy. Third is the web site that you are loading. What are it’s capabilities and how many users are requesting to view it? If there is predicted blizzard and you go to a weather site, it will probably load very slowly at that time. Fourth is the speed and memory in your personal machine. Having at least a 500 MHz processor and 256 MB RAM will allow it to process information reasonably well when it comes to your machine.
