What defines Renaissance art work?
Renaissance artists were considered as divinely inspired in their imagination. The question now, is, what was the form of this divine inspiration and how was it depicted in art work? Giorgio Vasari had made three divisions with regard to art and artists of Renaissance. They are: 1. Artists of the first period that is between mid-13th century and end of 14th century and they were known as “I primi lumi”. 2. Artists of the second period that is 15th century and they were even though admirable but still they were not perfect. 3. Artists of the third period during the 16th century and this was the period when art reached perfection through great artists like Leonardo da Vinci. Actually according to Vasari the third period was a period where gracefulness was incorporated in almost all the paintings and work of art.
