What days of the year would a Muslim take off work or school due to religious holiday?

For generous employers, that would be: * 3 days of Eid-ul-Fitr (that is, first day after the end of Ramadan, or the 1st day of the month of Shaban) * 3 days of Eid-ul-Adha (falling on 10th day of the month of Dhul Hijjah) * 15 days to a maximum of a month for Hajj. * Final 10 days of Ramadan. Of these, the last two are not ‘holidays’ in the traditional sense, they are meant for taking time off the daily grind of job and business and spend it in contemplation, prayer and spiritual renewal. The Hajj is a pilgrimage, not a holiday involving merry-making. Both the Eids, however, are holidays – festivities, feasts, parties and all. Friday is Sabbath, but one must follow the law of the land. Muslims can’t demand for a holiday every Friday as long as their right to pray isn’t taken away. Friday prayers are slightly longer, about a half hour. We already do have national holidays on Muslim festivals in India: Eid-ul-Fitr (Celebration of the Breaking of the Fast a.k.a Ramadan Eid) and Eid-ul-Adh
