What days does the Catholic Church view as Holy Days Of Obligation?
Well, the Holy Days aren’t technically a Bible question, but I’ll give it a shot, anyway, since they’re very Scriptural in their spirituality. First, let me say that I think it is awesome that you care enough to ask and that you want to honor the Holy Days the Church prescribes. I know they’re called Holy Days of obligation but, to be honest, it’s more important to look at Holy Days of obligation more like opportunities. You see, each and every time we come together in God’s house, alongside our brothers and sisters, listen to His word proclaimed and break bread together, receiving His true flesh and blood in the Eucharist, we are eternally changed and He pours out His grace, once again, in a profound way. Don’t ever miss an opportunity to enter into Christ’s presence and more deeply, Sacramentally pray through some of the greatest Christian mysteries – through Holy Days of (obligation) opportunity.
