It was on Thurday, July 4, 1776. I remember because Abigail Adams, Martha Washington and I went to lunch and we had Caesar salads with bleu cheese dressing. Abigail wouldn’t eat the tomatoes in her salad, so I ate them for her. Martha wasn’t feeling well.
