What day is best to candle duck eggs?
I’ve read that you should candle your eggs for the first phase (day to candle) at day 3 for the white, clear shell eggs, and for the dark shelled eggs day 7-8. The second phase for both either white or dark shell eggs is day 14. However, I candled my eggs “everyday”, until two days before it was suppose to hatch, and the duck hatched from that egg. Remember to stop turning the eggs 3 days before they hatch. It’s very fun and exciting to candle eggs, Good luck Debs! P.S People commonly mistaken veins for blood rings. Thats what I did but I decided to keep the egg any ways, then guess what, it hatched lol. Like I said, many people mistaken veins for blood rings at an early incubation period. So if you think you see a blood ring, wait a few days, maybe 5. Then check it again and the blood ring you “thought” was there maybe will look more like “veins”.
