What day does Commercial Striped Bass Season Start?
Like all commercial species in New England, the price is set by market demand. Commercial guys sell to wholesale buyers who, in turn sell to various wholesalers and retailers. Some sell to restaurants, some to fish markets, some to supermarkets. Ultimately, price is determined by the demand of the end-users. When there are plenty of fish at the market, the price falls and the commercial guys get a lower price than when there are few fish sold.
