According to my official guide (posted through the door because I live nearby), it officially took place on Sunday 20 and Monday 31 August 2009. I think there’s a steel band contest on the Saturday to kick things off, but heard that it’s now in Hyde Park (might be wrong). The Children’s Day is the Sunday, Adults’ on Monday. It started an hour earlier this year, at 9.00 am. It finished on Monday. It seemed quieter this year, but people were still out and about quite late on the Monday evening.
