Unfortunately for those few disappointed souls, “Blue Velvet” wasn’t about Bobby Vinton. If they could get past that minor technicality, they were in for one of the most bizarre, erotic, completely unforgettable and terrific films David Lynch has made. Of course, if they were expecting some Polka music, I wouldn’t think they’d have recovered after hearing and seeing Isabella Rossellini singing the title song — Blue Velvet. Or, for that matter, watching Dennis Hopper’s character butalizing Isabella Rossellini’s character.
