What database structure does TRMS use?
TRMSs self-optimizing database structure uses 1 KSDS file, 1 small RRDS file (referred to as the LOCK file) and from 1 to 255 RRDS files. This provides users with the ability to hold well over 1 terabyte worth of information within the TRMS system. With the use of TRMSs automatic archive/purge process the space in the database is dynamically re-used. All reports are compressed before being written to the database for optimal use of your DASD space. Regardless of how many portions of a report are broken out, or how many views of a report are created, there is always only one copy of the report maintained on the database.
