What data sources does the QD support?
Currently the data source is any ODBC database connection. QD can also compress and load flat files, either delimited or fixed, including e-mail logs. QD cannot currently manage images, as they are already compressed. QD cannot compress media files, though it can store pointers to the image, do the analytics and have links to the image. • Can QD consolidate input data? Yes. QD can take data from multiple databases and consolidate it into a single compressed, high-performance, read-only database. • How does QD work in enterprises that federate data sources using a services-based architecture? QD can take data from multiple data sources, including traditional RDBMSs, data warehouses, data marts and flat files and then combine it on the desktop, without requiring complex server-based federation tools.
